About Us

Ampress Welding is a small independent but professionally run family company based on the south coast on Ampress Park in Lymington, Hampshire. We specialise in all aspects of welding, fabrication and machining carrying out bespoke work from small jobs for local customers, repeat orders to large complex fabrication work.

Since first opening in 2000 we have continued to grow and expand our company moving to larger premises on Ampress Park on two occasions expanding as the estate does. We first started trading as a partnership between Les, Mike and Will until 2006 when Les and Jayne Hicks purchased the company and began trading as a limited enterprise. Since then after finishing full time education and their own ventures our children Callum and Laura have become directors of the company.

We supply a range of products for the petrochemical industry including Marine Burners and spare parts, steelwork for local builders and bespoke stainless steel items for the marine industry. Although we are a small UK firm the items we manufacture are supplied to companies around the globe from European Countries, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.

The building trade in Lymington is growing and we are happy to support local builders with steelwork ordered to their specifications. We can provide beams cut to length or angle cut as required, drill any steelwork, supply plates weld and paint in primer.

Our highly skilled and experienced members of staff always ensure that orders are carried out to the highest standard to the best possible lead time. Over the past twenty years we have built up excellent long-term working relationships with our clients and always looking to help and meet new customers with any projects large or small.

Our welders are fully qualified to both ASME and BS EN ISO standards which enables us to carry out welding on pressure parts for vessels etc. Whilst we cannot always carry out every aspect of a job in house we work with a number of reliable sub-contractors and material suppliers who hold the same high regard for quality as we do so that we can have bespoke items laser cut to exact requirements and have our welding verified with a range of non-destructive testing including x-ray. Where possible we always try to support our fellow local small and medium sized businesses.

Our factory is fully equipped with 2 x 2.2 Tonne Cranes and a Forklift to manoeuvre large bulky items safely. Our machine shop consists of CNC and Manual Mills and Lathes, Saw, Brake Press, 3m Guillotine, Rolling capabilities, TIG/MIG/ARC Welding facilities.

Ampress is fully insured and equipped to carry out onsite work including beam installations on building sites and welding.
